Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–3 pm. It is closed on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Wilmington is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Wilmington follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The staff and Dr. Cook are fabulous. I was very worried about my procedure as my initial blood pressure showed. They calmed me, numbed me and communicated throughout the procedure. It ended up being considerably less than what I initially expected. I highly recommend them!

How grateful I am to switch to Dr. Cook. My first perio, a local Wilmington periodontist who painfully placed my implant, was worlds apart from Dr. Cook. Dr. Cook actually listened (instead of talking at me), took into account my dental history and anxiety (instead of dismissing it), and provided multiple solutions as well as very clear education for me as I continue to heal. Dr. Cook and team - thank you for providing top notch care.

Cook Periodontics is the most wonderful place. I cannot say enough about the staff and how much they have helped our family. They have treated us with such dignity and given us strength through a very difficult process. They helped us so beyond what we could have imagined. My son said today "those ladies roll out the red carpet for me when I come in"! Sarah - scheduled us Arianna - Surgical Dental Assistant Cerrissa - Surgical Dental Assistant Michelle - β™₯️ we could not have done it without her thank you!

I was in dire need of help with a mouthful of dental issues. I needed help quick and Cook Periodontics and staff has saved me (as they said they would!). Thank goodness for this team. They are responsive, professional, and has exceeded my expectations. I can't be happier with the guidance, experience and patience Dr Cook, Roland (Dental Asst.); Michelle (Surgical Coordinator); and Sarah (Scheduler), have given me. I am relieved. I cannot be in better hands!

I have had the blessing of being referred to Dr. Cook for dental surgery. I am immensely grateful and thankful for Dr. Cook's expertise, her care and compassion. Dr. Cook has surrounded herself with an incredible staff, who are kind, empathetic, and extremely professional. The patient coordinator, Sarah immediately put me at ease and answered all my questions. Michelle, the surgical coordinator was super efficient in getting me scheduled, explaining the pre-op instructions, sending over my prescriptions meds and making sure all my questions were answered. She had such a nice way about her. Keri and Cerrissa, the dental assistants during my surgery, were so supportive, gentle and patient. Very competent and tenderhearted. If I am being honest, I was scared, but Cerrissa was right, "I didn't feel a thing and I don't remember it".

Cook Periodontics is truly something special. As a busy mom, I needed a same-day, last-minute appointment for my daughter, and from the moment I called, their team went above and beyond to take care of us. Sydney was incredible, innately kind, patient, and genuinely committed to helping. She worked hard to get my daughter scheduled and accommodated, and I felt like I was experiencing a real β€œservant leader” in action. That level of care is rare, and I’m so grateful for her effort. Cerrissa, our dental assistant, was equally wonderful. She took her time explaining the procedure in a way that made my daughter (and me) feel calm and confident. She answered all of our questions and addressed our concerns without rushing us. She was so thoughtful, and as a fellow proud mom, I loved connecting with her. And Dr. Deana Cook was amazing, fast, professional, efficient, and clearly excellent at what she does. The whole experience was smooth and reassuring, and it was refreshing to meet genuinely nice people who truly care. If you’re looking for a practice that is more than accommodating, Cook Periodontics is it. Highly recommend!

I just moved to NC from MA 2 weeks ago. I needed to have a cracked and infected tooth removed. I called Dr. Cook's office and Sarah fit me in for an appt. within 3 days for an evaluation. The day of my evaluation Cerrissa the dental assistant was amazing! She took the time to explain everything to me in great detail. She even used an analogy that helped ease my mind about how this could have happened. Dr. Cook came into meet me and explain what she saw on my X-ray and what needed to be done. Michelle then put me on their schedule for the next day at 8am. The day of the procedure went very well. Both Cerrissa and Roland were there with me to explain everything they were going to do. I was able to say hello to Dr. Cook and her very calm and professional demeanor is what I needed before I was given the sedation. I would highly recommend this practice!

No one wants to have to replace a bridge with implants!! But…. I must say Dr Cook and her terrific staff make it relatively simple with minimal discomfort. Michelle laid my financial plan out with clarity and very good communications. Arianna was beside me during the entire process assuring I was comfortable and checked in with me the following day to assure I was doing well. While I have several months to go before my bridge is completely replaced, so far I am very pleased with Dr Cook and her staff and will highly recommend her practice to my family and friends.
